Her father Zeus gave her a silver bow. She lived with some other young women in the wildernes and hunted.
The hunter Actaeon once saw the beautiful naked Artemis and her virgin friends as she was bathing in a lake. She transformed him into a deer and hunted him. He was eaten by his own dogs.
